Insurance: The Stable Edge Of Change

 by: Greg Carson

The only thing that is permanent in this world is change. Since we are living in an ever-changing society, one must be capable to cope and live with what the world has to offer. No one could ever predict what's happening next so one must be self-reliant by preparing for the worst possible consequences the world has to offer.

To be assured against these unpredictable phenomena, insurance policies are sold. There are a lot of insurance policies available in the market nowadays. Such policies are classified to conform to certain specifications and coverage in the insurance policy.

But what of the local business? What policy can they get to protect themselves from any loss resulting from robbery? The most common form is the comprehensive money, securities, and payroll policy. The policy covers loss of money not only because of robbery but also such perils as fire, earthquake, typhoon and flood. Money is covered inside and outside the premises of the insured. The coverage outside premises covers holdup, accidents to the carrying vehicle or to the employee. A location that can refer you to some of these policy providers can be found at www.rentersinsurancehelp.com.

A limit of liability is set for money inside the insured's premises. This amount covers cash collections and the petty cash fund. The limit is set at the maximum level of cash. Usually this is the amount kept after banking hours and over the weekend. The peak season should also be taken into account in determining this limit.

A separate limit of liability is set for cash outside the premises. This refers to cash on the way to the bank to be deposited or on the way to the premises after having been withdrawn from the bank. Cash in the hands of field salesmen and collectors can also be covered.

The third limit of liability is set for the payroll. The coverage starts as soon as an employee, say the cashier, gets hold of the cash at the bank, continues until the cash arrives at the premises and ends at the time the payroll is handed over to the employees. To get rid of the risk of payroll loss, and avoid covering the payroll and paying premium on it, some employers require their employees to withdraw their salaries at the bank. Salaries of executives are automatically credited to their personal bank accounts.

The loss of checks is also covered but the insurance company will pay only what it takes to have the checks reissued. So, it is important that as soon as the loss of a check is known, the bank should be advised immediately to stop payment on it.

Insurance companies consider the risks covered under the comprehensive money, securities and payroll policy as hazardous. The policy is available only on an accommodation basis; that is, it will be issued only to a client who has a substantial amount of other policies, such as fire, which are considered less hazardous.

Self-Judgment Versus Self-Compassion

Self-Judgment Versus Self-Compassion

 by: Margaret Paul, Ph.D.

We hear a lot about how important it is to be compassionate toward others, and it is very important. The problem is that you may not be able to really feel compassion toward others until you are able to feel compassionate toward yourself.

In the 37 years that I?ve been doing counseling, I?ve discovered that the most common underlying cause of anxiety, depression, addictive behavior and relationship problems is self-judgment. The most prevalent self-judgment is:

?I?m not good enough.?

There are many variations to this core shame belief:

?I?m not lovable.?

?I?m unworthy.?

?I?m flawed.?

?I?m not important.?

?I?m bad.?

?I?m a failure.?

?I?m stupid.?

?I?m not okay.?

?I?m not enough.?

However you phrase it, it is saying the same thing. It is a profound judgment against who you really are.
And it is...

Bad Check Writers Get Monkey-Wrenched

Bad Check Writers Get Monkey-Wrenched

 by: Jesse Fisher

Bad check writers are opportunists that stay on the fringes of crime. They know how to manipulate the system to their advantage.
They know and take advantage of the overworked and paper-heavy judicial agencies responsible for check collections. They lie, push, delay and make numerous excuses in an attempt to avoid or delay paying off their bad checks.

County agencies assigned to collect bad checks are doing the best they can. However, because of the sharp increase in numbers of citizens choosing this form of crime, the agencies are becoming over worked. In many counties the number of checks being turned in for collections is increasing while the percentage of collections is dropping.
Many check writers are using the system as a credit free loan agency by negotiating time and monthly payments; causing further expenses to the county.

Credit Card Charge-Off ? What Does It Mean and What Should You Do About It?

Credit Card Charge-Off ? What Does It Mean and What Should You Do About It?

 by: Charles J. Phelan

Have you been told by a creditor that your debt is about to "charge-off"? Did the bill collector make it sound like you will be ruined financially if you allow this catastrophe to happen? If you're behind on your bills, unable to keep up with payments on your credit cards and other debts, sooner or later you will hear a creditor representative threaten you with the dreaded "charge-off." So what is a charge-off anyway? Should you be worried? What are the consequences of this mysterious event?

I'll start by explaining what a charge-off is NOT. Because the term includes the word "charge," many people mistakenly think it has to do with cancellation of the account by the creditor. In other words, you can't "charge" anything on your credit card anymore. But it's not the same thing at all, and most banks will revoke charging privileges around 2-3 months...

Don't Neglect The Humble Check

Don't Neglect The Humble Check

 by: Jason Schwartz

Internet commerce is an instantaneous purchase medium. A customer sees the product he or she likes; enters credit or debit card details; the product gets shipped. Simple. No messing around with mailing out checks, no waiting for the merchant to cash the check.

For online merchants, too, the process is straightfoward and convenient. There's no waiting for a check to arrive; no worrying about whether the check is good and no delays in shipping the product.

Consequently, it is easy for online merchants to assume that there is no value in offering check payments as a purchase option. Indeed, in competitive industries where margins are tight, the sheer time cost and risk involved in accepting checks makes it an unprofitable choice. And, anyway, everyone uses credit or debit cards these days. Right ? Wrong.

Here's some facts for all you ecommerce entrepreneurs to consider:
